Wixson Following the Versace Walkway Stumble

Wixson quickly recovered and gave a thumbs-up to the audience. She finished the show in the same towering heels. 'I think the adrenaline kicked in and I just finished,' she said. 'I don't know how I did it.'

Wixson went to hospital the following morning. 'They wrapped my ankle and said that I couldn't take the bandages off for 10 days and that I had to ice it three times a day,' she told me a few days after the accident. 'It wasn't severe; I hyper-extended the ankle.'

Having been forced to cancel all her remaining appearances in Milan, she had flown to Paris where she stayed in her hotel room, resting and icing her ankle, and worrying that she might not recover in time for Paris Fashion Week.
