Kloss - Testino Comment Clarification

No agent/agency should [any longer] allow their girls to be shot by Testino.

A few sites (Jezebel, Fashionista, Styleite) have taken my above comment to mean that I'm in disagreement with Karlie showing a bunch of skin. That's not what I meant at all. What I meant was that Testino is a lazy photographer that lacks a point of view at this stage of his life. And hence am surprised that he's being hired and paid handsomely for his [currently] shitty work. That's the only things i'm outraged at. I could care less if Karlie poses nude; she's 19 and can do whatever she wants.

i had the good fortune & extreme pleasure to be able to work with mario testino here in los angeles. not only is he one of the most gracious people i have ever met he is a very talented photographer who has worked in this industry for many years. i think that people took your comment the way they did because you phrased it to be that way. it seems not that you are backtracking a bit but when i read it, like most people, i took it to be that you were offended of her nudity. it's really sad that the internet has given so many people the notion that their opinion is so interesting. whether you like the photographs or not is irrelevant. you don't make yourself seem more hip or knowledgable by making vague statements. if you do work in the industry, i'm sure you are very aware of how many people are involved in shoots. from the photo editor, fashion editor, photographer, stylist, eic etc. it is never just one persons decisions that get a photograph made. will a photographer have failed sessions - yes. i've worked on shoots that i've loved and once they are printed am horrified at what has been done to the images & vice versa.
