Azzedine Alaia Says No to Dior. Galliano Set for Trial
In all the rumours floated about who would be the next big creative director at Dior, from names old (Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Vuitton’s Marc Jacobs) to new-ish (Haider Ackerman and Sarah Burton) one that hasn’t been mentioned but has, I discovered, actually been called, is perhaps the most surprising of all: Azzedine Alaia. I had heard whispers, but he just confirmed it. [Financial Times]
This gives us an idea of what Bernard Arnault is thinking. Though we don't know if this was early or late thinking.
Speaking of Dior, John Galliano's is set to attend his trial, in Paris, this Wednesday at 2pm:
John Galliano's trial is set to start this Wednesday, June 22, at 2pm. The trial will be heard by three judges as no jury is required for cases considered to be "minor" in France. A significant press presence is expected as the court is open and anyone is able to attend. The initial hearing is likely to last between four and five hours with witnesses from both sides to be heard. [Vogue UK]
