There is a difference between art and Fine-Art, one is temporary and the other everlasting. One is without a soul and spirit, and one is with. So it is with this principle that I speak here. And while generalizing, and accepting that exceptions are present, looking at images from the Emmy's I couldn't help but think that celebrities are the least fashionable beings. So i'm surprised that they're the ones folks follow for inspiration. It makes no sense. They're simply made up dolls fitted by stylists, but underneath still reek fashion-sense disaster. They're as dead corpses, who only come to life when they do their own thing; be it act or other acts in life. And if anything, I would hold them responsible for the dilution of class, taste, and inspiration, in fashion. What's worse is the amount of attention they receive from magazines and fashion bloggers. Which leads me to the conclusion that the more [quote un-quote] a fashion magazine/blog covers celebrities, the less they understand inspiration. Even the word fashion should be stripped away from their titles. Even designers should be shamed if celebrities wear their clothe, in comparison to a true fashionista who would.
Anna W. is most responsible here as well...The only thing Anna had in her favor was numbers. The number of the US population, and hence subscriptions sold. Which brought advertisers, $, and attention. Should she have remained in the UK for example, or any other smaller country, she would never have been able to reach her heights. And when she started to compete on a global level, via the internet, she all of the sudden fell behind*. And its where we see such persons as the other Anna (dello Russo) be able to have as much clout. Anna W. brought-in a virus to fashion when she started to focus on celebrities. And now anything she touches goes bad. Take Karlie kloss for example. Even Meisel goes bad when he enters Vogue US.
*I like to highlight that when I say fell behind, I don't mean by power or numbers, but by relevancy. Relevancy should be the mother of all interest, to any creative. (Alber Elbaz cpoke about it recently, but I couldn't pull up the quote).
