PS: Gaga In Case You Missed It.

  Gaga

In case you missed the Gaga interview yesterday, it's still showing up on the show studio live website. You can also read a transcript here. Or just the celebrity questions here.

Daphne Guinness: Do you think that the arts can change the future? (for the present that we all seem to be in is certainly not the one I envisaged!)

Gaga: I do, I do think hat we can change the future with our voices, and with music and with fashion. And I know why she feels that way. I will say so genuinely and authentically Daphne, when I met you, you change my future.

LadyFag?

I'll get to the Lady Fag in a second, but these images are from a celebration for VMan's A Scandinavian Summer. You can find more about it here. But we have more pressing matters to attend to. Lady Fag.

So please direct your attention to the below image, bottom row, second girl from the right. As you'll note with all these boys and girls, they've all got regular names, except our peculiar girl! She's got 'Lady Fag' written beneath her astonishing Polaroid...

So! If you know anything about it her, please do share.

Update: We have our answer. Learn all about Ladyfag here. In short, Ladyfag (born September 11, 1976) is a New York City based writer, performer, and nightlife personality.

★ The Silent New York Is Set To Scream ★

  Othilia

This one is juicy.

The Imagist just posted a whole perspective on Silent Model Management, and it's readiness to enter, and shake up, the New York modeling scene. It went something like this.

Act I: A Pissed Off 7 Figure-Model's Eye.

The modeling industry, I must tell you is a business built for the burn-out. Just like fashion, that mother culture of willed obsolescence ...a girl...an agent...a whole agency can suddenly just dwindle and crash from over-exposure or over-extension in the twinkle of a pissed off 7 figure-model's eye

Act II: Lunch & A Hush After Three Short Years.

Which is why my lunch meet yesterday with the forces behind Silent , that very stealth Paris modeling agency now set to launch in NY was so strangely invigorating. In three short years Silent has become something a whispered myth. The Silent guys would love to know that for all these years they have been the stuff of whispers and myth. Visiting agents during Paris Fashion Week making pilgrimage to the offices spoke in awed tones of a hushed dove gray room and a small, small board of precisely and uniquely beautiful girls.

Act III: Thunders!

Think Anna S, that beautiful Russian girl Silent steered through Vogue Paris and Calvin Collection campaigns with unerring precision. A lot of New York modeling mavens were very mad at Silent's insistence on retaining global control of Anna S's career. "Who the hell do they think they are?" they thundered.

Act IV: Infiltration & The Beginning of A New Glory

Well the competition is going to be even more thunderous when they see the offerings currently being polished up by Silent NY. Its not hype. I truly feel this. The girls Eric DuBois had in his immaculate little black portfolio of models were stunning. There was a taste, an aesthetic. It was specific and refined...uncommon and editorially perfect. I have not seen an aesthetic this fine tuned and girls this compelling since the glory days of Rowland's Supreme.

Act V: A New Frontier.

So if TI goes on and on in the coming months about that Silent aesthetic please know it is because I'm very excited to see a strong point of view being convened at a New York modeling agency. That begs the question, is there room economically speaking, on the NY market-place for this Silent ? Will its rise signal the demise of any agency that might be faltering right now? Will Silent be the shiny new destination ? The new novelty? Is Silent the icy cool boutique that you have to frequent in order to find "direction"? It certainly will disturb an already precarious balance of power on the Manhattan scene.

Act VI: The Silent Ideal

Another aspect of that pronounced reaction to the proposition of Silent was perfectly enunciated by agency partners Vincent and Eric. In the interview we taped for MDC they explained that the idea of Silent was a reaction to the current modeling world of drama and hype and strum and drang , of switching and gossip, variables that I've been known to wallow in. But that idea of management..."silence"...the discipline of that ...to know what you know and have the discipline to keep your mouth shut. To be quietly, discretely and privately totally invested in your work and the quality of your work and to hermetically seal it from outside voices.

The End.

Hold It. We have not spoken Othilia yet, pictured above (& below).

As it just so happened, on this same day Marie Maud did a whole profile on Ms. Othilia Simon. Which you can read here.

You may also see her Silent book here.

Photographers | The 'ALPA 12 TC' Camera

  Alpa 12 TC

From the manufacturer:

We just finished a project for ALPA Cameras. A small but very fine camera producer in Switzerland. The cameras of Alpa are professional tools used by photographers such as Walter Niedermayr or Andreas Gursky.

A camera from Alpa puts nothing in between the creativity of the photographer and his picture. The focus remains entirely on feeling for the moment and the skill of the user. The reduction to the bare essential renders the the objectives of the photographer visible.

“Such a uncompromising object like the ALPA 12TC is, this camera will become one with the user. Only when the photographer will forget the camera in his hands he will be able to absolutely focus on his activity: The Photography.”

Hold it in your hands and you will understand. We wanted the people not only to see, but also feel this mechanical object. To understand it with all your senses. This aim was our guide for ALPA throughout the whole design process at estragon.

Additionally "...It features a compact design and is capable of operating with a 6×9 roll-film or as a 60MP digital camera." [Via]
