Tavi Celebrates Her Blog's 1st Bday | The Must Watch Video of 2009

The young darling who WILL be major one day, if she continues in this humble, energetic, and guided path, speaks to her fans through a video, celebrating her fashion blog 1st birthday. The blog is called, if you're not already aware, Style Rookie.

I'm not one to fill ones head with hot air, but I must say I was surprised at the level of maturity, sophistication, and most importantly artistic sense and understanding. For example she addresses Balmain with the following msg:

"Balmain...Balmain is a look, I'm sorry it’s not much more then that. We understand that you are very chic and you're fun and you’re...the people that wear your cloths like partying, but you cant do the 80’s four seasons in a row unless you’re actually making all of them different..."

I will leave you with that, and ask you to watch the video. It's inspirational to know that our young people are not all wasting time playing video games, watching cartoons, or getting pregnant at 12.

I'll Take a Jac, Me Too, Me Also, Oh Me Me As Well! Ahhhhh!!!

So the latest modeling news yesterday was that Style.com choose their favorite 10 new faces from the Fall 09 runways. No big deal so far, we chose ours as well.

But the more intriguing news was the tidbit they snuck in, about their #5 pick, Monika Jagaciak [better known as Jac], which was that this darling is set to be the exclusive face for the Calvin Klein Fall 09 ad campaign!

Now she was on my top list as well, but I couldn't help but contemplate this intrigue, and asked my self is she truly worthy? Because a Calvin campaign is becoming a big deal these days.

So how was I to measure this!

Then I thought what better way then to see what excitement, truly, surrounds this girl, from the fashion spectators (well mostly tweens). So I hit the "The Fashion Spot" to do some # comparison.

If you're not familiar, the fashion spot is a thread driven website where discussions and posts take place around pretty much any subject that deals with fashion. So the more pages, which include 15 posts each, the more popular the subject would seem.

Posts can include comments like " OMG I LOVE THIS" to actual imagery, posted quotes, and etc..etc...even "ewww".

So this became my measuring stick, and here is a look at some well known models, and more newer ones, and how Jac compared with them all.

To be fair, please note that Jac started out pretty early in modeling. She was only 13, and has been happening for about 3 years now. But still! You know?

Sexy Attraction | Tip # 7: Peeking Lingerie

Our 7th tip in the Sexy Attraction series (how did this whole thing start again?) is a little peek of the lingerie.

I would say it's a fine line between elegantly showing it and not so elegantly, so tread carefully. Rule of thumb is to have confidence and elegance when going for it , and to do it in small dosages.

It's also more then likely be done with a bra, so lace and black with black, or white with white, works best. If it's color, then it's good for the colors to almost blend together, or be complimentary to each other so you almost don't see it right away. The idea is to let someone discover it and not for you to advertise it.

Recently I've also been seeing it done, more and more, with an open back, where the strap is in view. That also I've liked. The big point is to go fancy with the bra.

The bottom is much harder to pull of. And for panties to show is almost always trashy, so if you're feeling a little playful, naughty, or daring, yet still want to maintain your reputation and be in an elegant state of mind, go more with sheerness then completely out in the air. And again go with a fancy piece. A slip is also great here. Good luck. This is just one man's opinion.

Eau Sensuelle Coming April

Rochas has a new scent coming our way next month.The Eau Sensuelle. It features model Emilie Caillon against a Parisian vista. It was shot by Benoit Peverelli.

The campaign will also include a TV spot directed by Joe Roman.

Eau Sensuelle is made with top notes that "include blood orange, bergamot and mango". And at "the scent’s heart are orange blossom, pink peppercorn and Sambac jasmine". Whiel "Iris, dried fruits and white musk notes comprise the drydown" reports wwd.

It will be available in 50- and 100-ml. spray bottles priced at $43 and $59, respectively.

T by Alexander Wang Switches From Karlie To Rose For Fall 09

Following the Spring 09 T line collection with model Karlie Kloss, Alexander Wang has revealed the 2nd collection of the line for Fall 09. And he's gone with new comer Rose Cordero.

This being fall, some of the cuts have been extended both to the floor and fingers, and it's more dark then white obviously. I also like the boxer-brief like piece hugging the thighs; perfect to roll in bed with.

 

Agent Provocateur's Virgins Get a Shower To Qualify as 'The Brides of Ulysses'

As we await Picnic Debauch from Agent Provocateur, the design lingerie house has decided to give their girls a bridal shower with 'The Brides of Ulysses' collection. Here is a look at it with a quick peek into the new swimwear line (last image).

"These bridal ranges include sumptuous white and cream designs in luxurious lace, alluring sheer tulle and sexy silk"

Bik Bok's Ad Is Simple & Sweet

Sometimes you don't need big name designer, an elaborate setting and the latest high end models for an ad campaign to work. You do need a good photographer though and for Bik Bok S/S 09 photographer Isabel Watson beautifully captured these these 3 girls who include Carolina Engman (right)  for the spring campaign, in Florida.

Zac Meows Into His 1st Ever Ad Campaign | Alexandra Tomlinson by Ellen von Unwerth

WWD reports, and it goes something like this:

1- Indie magazine Fanzine137 offers Posen a double page spread to create his own ad (free I assume).
2- The "designer jumped at the chance" (literally? It's Zac so I can see it).
3- He brings together for a day photographer Ellen von Unwerth, stylist friend Christopher Niquet and model Alexandra Tomlinson, (and a cat).
4- He directs the shoot, and voila!

“The hardest part was selecting the best image,” said Posen. “You want something that grabs the attention on the page and something that is simple…direct and cohesive. I wanted it to be pure and true to yourself and to your customer.”

I like it. Alexandra does looks stunning.
