Eliza Cummings For April's Vogue Italia Cover

Fashionista reports that the new 'it' girl, British born model, and darling, Eliza Cummings has been shot by Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia's April 09 Cover. Nice!

As you should already know, I'm a big fan, and so cant wait to see the outcome.

This move though seems to continue Vogue Italia's new trend of going with It girls instread of new/fresh models. Yes Eliza is also a model, but she's an it, and following their February cover with Pixie Geldo (also shot by Meisel) we might be seeing a major change with the Italian publication. Which is the best of the Vogues.

As we speak, Eliza is found on two other covers: Dazed and Confuseds' March 09 [with boyfriend Ash]; and i-D's also March 09 cover, as one of the 12 'Best of British' faces.

Auguste Tomasuite Sheds Tears at Jil Sander

So the interesting news going around tonight is why was Lithuanian model Auguste Tomasuite crying during the Jil Sander runway show, earlier today?!

As of now, no one seems to know. But wow, what an emotional impact. I can imagine the crowds faces when they saw her make her run.

I poked around, and one person said that it could have been a publicity stunt. Maybe, but of course the first thing that would come to mind is she having a personal issue; be it fear or something else...

She's stunning with or without tears though!

Maybe Giorgio  Armani was right when he said Domenico & Stefano were stealing ideas, because the D&G F/W 09 collection just went down the runway and it reeks Miu Miu and Prada.

I could be wrong here, but the laces like skirt to the left; the prints-like in the middle, the mood of the third, to the left?

Dasha Zhukova Set to Realm POP

Dasha Zhukova has been confirmed as the new Editor-in-Chief of POP magazine, by Bauer Media. The 27 year old Russian replaces Katie Grand, who went on to create Love Magazine for Condé Nast.

"I am tremendously excited to take on this challenge. I feel it’s the perfect time to be showcasing and encouraging new energy and talent. I have always admired POP for its visual vibrancy. Extending its remit for a new era is a stimulating project for myself and the new team. We are working hard on a complete revamp of the magazine in order to provide a broader point of view focusing also on art, contemporary culture and the globalisation of all things pop-related."

Zhukova will be working with the title's editorial director, Ashley Heath; as well as an editorial board filled with fashion, design and art world luminaries, such as Alice Rawsthorn, Sam Taylor-Wood, Peter Saville, Daphne Guinness and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.

“We are working hard on a complete revamp of the magazine to provide a broader point of view focusing also on art, contemporary culture and the globalization of all things pop related.” said Zhukova.

“Dasha represents a fantastic combination of style, intelligence, youth and cultural clout.” said Ashley Heath.

"Bauer added that Pop will open a new London office along with a satellite office in Berlin, and partner with London’s Saatchi Gallery on installations and live events. The revamped title will launch September 1, with a 5 pounds, or $7, cover price" reports wwd.

Westwood's Hubby for 10 Men Mag

Vivienne Westwood's [25 years younger then her] husband, Andreas Kronthaler, has landed on the cover of 10 Men Magazine's Spring/Summer 09 issue.

For those who're not familiar with the story, the couple met in 1992, when he was 27 and she 52. She met him as her student 5 years earlier when she was teaching a course in Vienna. The story goes that she was so impressed by his design skills she hired him on the spot.

What about the age difference? She said once: "I've never been more sure of anybody in my life than Andreas."

Aline Weber's Wish Report

No strangers to Aline Weber and her individual beauty, I was intrigued to have come across her today all the way in Brazil; in a publication titled the Wish Report. I could not read the language, but with a beauty like Aline's and an editorial like this who needs words? Si?
