One of NY S/S 09 Fashion Week's surprises has been the opening slot for the Marc Jacobs show. The now fairly unknown Jamie Bochert found out the night before that she's got the coveted honor of opening the show. The fit model for the brand, who 5 years ago decided to leave modeling for music, was shocked when Marc told her that's she's the opening act, which was a few days after he asked her if she's willing to walk the show.
"...and I was like ‘Are you fucking kidding me?’ and he was like ‘No, I picked it myself!’”
Did Marc just reinvigorate her career? You bet ya.
PS: the eyebrows were bleached for the show.

I was totally shocked when I saw an unknown model (and not a pretty or young one either) walked out onto the runway at Marc Jacobs.
