Halston Back into History?

Halston
Roy Halston Frowick just turned in his grave. WWD reports that "Marco Zanini is said to be out" as head creative director of the recently resurrected Halston brand. In summary: he just didn't hit the ground running it looked as if it would take him a while to get it right. While Mr. Zanini paid tribute to the Halston brand in his fall 08 collection, he failed to bring anything new to the table.

"The collection that followed was referential to the original designer's archive without enough freshness to make a real impact on fashion. WWD said in its review, "It's clear that Zanini has a long way to go before he can assume the mantle of one of America's greatest talents and make it his own...""

As a result Mr. Harvey Weinstein (who owns the rights to the Halston name) seems to have bid farewell to the 34 year old designer, who had come from Dolce & Gabbana.
