Fashion @ the New York Public Library
What do u know! There is a lady named Paula Baxter, at the NY Public Library, that likes fashion. She's actually the curator of the Art & Architecture Collection at the New York Public Library's Humanities and Social Science Library. But more importantly Paula runs a neat blog called Fashion@NYPL, discussing random oldies that are nothing short of charming and delightful.
She brings to our attention subjects like "Origins of the term "fashion victim"" trying to find out where the term came from; "Modern Equal Streamlined" discussing body types in fashion; and "Little Black Dress" about how black as a feminine clothing choice turns out to be a complex decision.
As you would expect, all the accompanying pictures are vintagey, which ads to the charm of it all. Here is where you can find it all: nypl.org/blogs/paula-baxter.
